My goal is to provide an unmatched fishing experience. Using basic to advanced techniques to target a variety of species, anglers of all levels and ages can participate successfully. Trips often include a varying combination of live bait, artificial lures, my own hand-tied jigs and flies, casting, trolling and kite fishing. From watching dolphins play in our wake, to catching bull reds, to enjoying the historic and beautiful scenery, each trip is an adventure. I put all of myself into each excursion to provide my clients with a day that they will gladly remember for years.
Hi, I'm Capt Josh Rozier, let me tell you a little about myself:
- 1. My favorite color is yellow
- 2. I like long, romantic walks on the beach, holding hands with....no, no, no, wait, don't stop reading, I'm just kidding around!
Sorry, that's just me, when I see an opportunity to make a joke...well, I can't help it.
I was born right here in Pensacola, it's my hometown and have lived here most of my life. I have a lifetime of fishing experience; my parents gave me a rod and reel as soon as I was able to hold it, and I’ve never put it down (it’s not my fault and they swear it isn’t theirs).
For a few years I was in Key West, honing my skills and expanding my knowledge of tackle and techniques. Then I spent another year in the oil fields of Louisiana, driving a 104' crew boat,
working in some of the toughest conditions to be found anywhere, learning the ins and outs of boat handling.
I meet a lot of people that say "there's nothing to do here", I disagree. Take a look at my gallery and you'll see there's PLENTY to do in Pensacola. It depends on what you like to "do". Me, I like to fish. More so, I enjoy taking people fishing, teaching them how to catch, and especially seeing the looks on their faces when the biggest fish they have ever seen alive, much less caught, is brought on the boat . Nothing compares with the awe-struck expression on a kids face when they cast, entice, hook, fight and land their first fish! That is why I offer my services, to show you what inshore saltwater fishing is all about.
Since I'm being honest, I'll tell you, If you bring kids onboard, they are my first priority, I will be more about the kids catching than the adults. If this trip is about YOU, and you're bringing your kids along just for the ride, leave the kids at home; I'm liable to forget about the parents with children aboard. I will fish as hardcore as you want, but I cannot watch your kid sitting there not having any fun.
I have held my Captians license since 2001 and upgraded to a 200 ton license (the largest license of all the local guides) in 2007. This required me to have years more of documented sea time (driving bigger boats) and months of additional advanced training and coursework. I also have the privilege of being an IGFA Certified Captain, which requires further knowledge of IGFA rules and procedures. I have yet to set a record of my own, but that doesn't stop me from trying. Locally, I am excited to be involved with the Fishin Chix events, having been an invited captain for their Gulf Coast tournaments benefiting Hospice, and featured on Fishin' Chix TV.
I've been accused of talking, A LOT. I suppose by now that's obvious. I like to share my experiences with my clients, joke around, and generally have a good time. We're aboard together from the time we leave until we get back and the boat's only so big, so I can't run away. My only defense is my humor; if yours gets forgotten in the truck, it'll be a long day.
